The homeowner would like to at least boost the pressure on the hot water side..the whole house (newer house) is plumbed in 1/2 Qest piping , city water pressure is about 40 psi, I believe the flow rate for the unit is approx 1.8 gpm. Locally, they have the whole house boosters available (about $350.00), kinda overkill just to increase pressure for shower unit, thats all homeowner is concened about, he just wants to be able to use the 3 devices on unit at same time..I am thinking this will become more of an issue for homeowners around the country as more of the fancy shower units come online,odd thing is shower pumps are widely available in the United Kingdom, they exist!!! I have considered installing an off shelf booster pump (they usually have pre-set pressure though) with a gate valve to step-down pressure (if needed) and they rarely have a flow sensor to turn unit on in first place.
